Description
Discover the Postal Museum, an imposing Second Empire building built in 1910, which served as a post office from 1911 to 1967. The third floor is home to the permanent exhibition that recreates a post office from the early twentieth century. Inside this time capsule are the artifacts, scale models and recreations demonstrating the evolution of Canada's postal service.
You will also explore the clock mechanism's history and fabrication; clearly hearing each second tick, second after second. The four faces of the clock tower are visible from the exterior and with the passing of time, has become a rare sight in Quebec.
Temporary art exhibitions are also presented, featuring a panorama of art past and present. Two galleries present different worlds that engage the senses, inviting visitors to see, feel and think differently.
Both the Hôtel des Postes Museum and the Laurier Museum are included in the price of admission. You'll find Laurier museum listed in the Antiques Roadways and Byways and Artisans route.
